A lot has been done since I wrote my last journal. Things have been a bit chaotic which kind of reminds me of a tornado, everything being quickly pulled in all at once with no time to run away. Each day that goes by has been a big lesson for me. I have learned to manage my time a lot better and get things done when they're needed to be. I have slowly figured out which path I want to be on to make my dream a plan. Things have calmed down and have gotten better after I have set my mind to nothing else but school. It was challenging stepping away from my social life to just focus on school but I knew it was something that had to be done. I knew I had to distance myself from the people who distracted me.
When I feel myself slacking off my best friend Alissa Villareal puts me back on my track and pushes me forward. I lately have been struggling in algebra 2 and we've been getting together to study. As she tutors me I have understood the subject a lot better and I have taken more interest in it. She has also put her time into helping me with filling out my college applications.
Now that my CSU apps are submitted I have a big weight lifted off my shoulder. I recently applied to Chico State, CSU bakersfield and Fresno State University. I have already been admitted into Fresno State which is a bittersweet feeling. The feeling of being accepted is so heart whelming because it boosts up my confidence to go away for college and do big things. Leaving away for college doesn't mean i'm not going to remember the little town of Lindsay where I was raised and so many memories were made. Not only memories but where the start of my journey has begun.
Thanksgiving break is a few days away and I am really considering to use this time for catching up with a few things. With everything on my plate and completing my assignments I believe I deserve a break. I'm not only looking forward to our break but I am also looking forward to get back to school and go strong before we leave for Christmas break and the semester ends. It'd be a really good idea to get all my assignments out of the way so I won't be stressing out the last few days of the semester. As our breaks come to an end and are getting closer is making me realize how fast the time is going by and soon I will be leaving. This has really made me think of how lucky I am to have all the people in my life who are supporting me.
I couldn't be more thankful for my best friend Alissa Villareal. Although we had a tough time in the beginning with communicating with each other for different reasons we came to a point where our friendship became like no other. Alissa is always there to remind me how much i'm worth and the things I am capable of pursuing. she is one person who has walked into my life and has stuck with me through the nights when I would call her crying about how stressed out I am with school to her sitting beside me to push submit on my college applications. Alissa is not only my best friend for life but she is also like a sister! She never lets me down when I am going through a tough time. If i need help in my work or I am having trouble understanding something she will always do whatever she can to help me, even if she has a bunch of stuff to do herself. She has put a lot of time into helping me with so many things and I couldn't be anymore thankful for her. I don't know what i'd do without her. Last but not least I am thankful for having my family as my back bone. Although they aren't always 100% supportive for the part that they are it is a big help. I do understand that they are just not ready for their little princess to leave but they still acknowledge it and are willing to be guide me. I wouldn't be standing where I am today if it wasn't for the people that have surrounded me all my life giving me love and guidance through the good and bad.
I am ready for what the rest of senior year has in store for me!
